4 Reasons to Have a New Year's Eve Wedding

While winter is not the most popular season for weddings, I think there is something appealing about having your wedding on New Year's Eve! Below are my top 4 reasons for having your wedding on New Year's Eve.

#1 - A Great Anniversary
Not a person to normally go all out for New Year's? Now you have an amazing reason to always party - your wedding anniversary. New Year's Eve will always be a special day for your and your partner. Better yet, January 1 is a holiday. That allows you to party the night away and not have to worry about going into work the next day. It's like having your anniversary on a Friday every year.

#2 - Ease for Guests
As mentioned above, the next day is a holiday. That makes it easy for your guests to come to your special day, since the next day can be reserved for recovery and travel. Also, your guests most likely will enjoy having a place to go and party for the evening, unless they have traditions already in place.

#3 - The Décor
Did I mention metallics? How about how you can go crazy with the metallics and it is totally acceptable? Mix metallic with glitter and you have a home run. You also don't have to go crazy. Some small string lights, candles and a giant clock is just perfect.

#4 - Champagne
Who doesn't love champagne? What better way to celebrate your wedding and the new year than with champagne for everyone! Classy, sophisticated and fun, champagne is a definite. You can also give out tiny bottles of champagne as a party favour (for those who are of legal age of course.)

Fact: Did you know that The Big Bang Theory actress Kaley Cuoco got married this past New Year's Eve?

5 Great Wedding Favours

One of the most common ways to thank your guests for attending your wedding is with a favour. These are normally placed on the table with the place cards. Renaissance Studios Photography, who supplies a lot of the stunning photos used on this blog, has recently opened a wedding store - A Million Things Wedding. Here are a few of my favourite guest favours that they sell!

1. Bottle Opener
This antique key bottle opener is ADORABLE, and so practical. I am a big fan of the practical gifts. I am also into antique keys right now. Starting at $3.60 CDN each, these are definitely a unique wedding favour.
